Job summary

You will manage the painting team and paint stores, ensure 5S practices, and coordinate with production to align schedules across projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of paint spraying, including senior or supervisory roles.
• Extensive knowledge of electrostatic, air-assisted and HVLP systems.
• Strong understanding of painting materials, techniques and surface prep.
• Experience managing stock levels and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of compliance standards in line with special process requirements.
• Proven ability to lead a team, mentor staff and ensure high performance.
• Experience implementing 5S and continuous improvement.
• Rail industry or similar industrial setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality spray-painting work on trains and trams per specs.
• Lead a team of paint sprayers; mentor and train staff.
• Oversee end-to-end painting processes and 5S implementation.
• Manage paint stores, stock levels and procurement coordination.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and PPE policy.
• Coordinate with Production Manager to align painting schedules.
• Identify process improvements to reduce waste and costs.
