Job summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Deputy Superintendent Radiographer (Band 7) based in Wolverhampton. This leadership role supports the Superintendent Radiographer in managing an expanding Interventional and Cath Lab Radiology service, delivering safe, patient-centred care while overseeing clinical governance and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience in a busy Interventional or Cath lab department.
• Experience in management responsibilities (e.g., appraisals, rostering, disciplinary and capability management).
• Evidence of effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and senior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating complex patient pathways across emergency, inpatient and elective services.
• Managing service capacity and patient flow for timely access to radiological procedures.
• Co-ordinating list activity with Radiologists, Cardiologists, nursing staff and ward teams.
• Prioritising urgent and emergency cases and ensuring optimal use of Radiology resources.
• Overseeing stock control, consumables and equipment readiness.
• Leading service-improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and operational performance.
• Supporting workforce development, training and staff wellbeing within the Radiology team.
