Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a highly experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor in Reading to lead a team of Quantity Surveyors delivering major projects and programmes in AMP8. You will oversee a contractor programme valued up to £400m annually and ensure contractual compliance across all contracts.

Base location is hybrid in Reading with a 36-hour working week. The post holder will drive change, develop procurement strategies, mentor team members toward chartership, and maintain robust commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• MRICS Chartered status or detailed knowledge of RICS preferred.
• Experience in civil engineering sector (transportation, utilities, etc.) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractual compliance on all contracts.
• Develop and advise on procurement strategies for delivery area.
• Provide commercial support to procurement and supplier management teams.
• Manage and develop team members toward chartership.
• Certify and process payments in line with contracts.
• Advise on budgets and spend optimization.
• Provide commercial dispute resolution when required.
