Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Lead QA Engineer for Real Time Systems in Edinburgh/Scotland. You will lead end-to-end testing across FAT, UAT and SAT for central systems within the Advanced Energy Management System (AEMS) team.

Your role ensures performance, reliability and seamless integration with Real Time Systems such as PowerOn and Eterra. You will work with engineers, technicians and project managers to document test procedures, manage test environments, and mentor junior engineers while

Qualifications

• Experience with electricity transmission networks and control systems.
• Familiarity with IEC104, Modbus/TCP, IEC 61850, IEEE standards.
• End-to-end testing across IED, SCADA, server and network infrastructure.
• Ability to create detailed technical test specifications and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the end-to-end testing strategy for the AEMS centralized systems with project teams and external vendors.
• Gather testing requirements and map scenarios for comprehensive test execution.
• Oversee FAT in development environments, UAT in pre-production, and SAT with operational teams.
• Verify system performance under workloads and test integration with Real Time Systems (PowerOn, Eterra).
• Document procedures, findings and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
• Maintain test environment configurations and provide guidance to junior engineers.
