Mimica, a remote-first AI-powered process intelligence platform, is seeking a Lead/Staff Software Engineer to shape the Python backend across ML-enabled systems. You will own architecture, drive development, and mentor others while collaborating with data scientists and ML engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with Lead/Staff responsibilities
• Strong proficiency with Python and Backend-Engineering
• Strong experience with async/concurrent programming
• Experience owning projects from start to finish: speccing, architecture, development, testing, deployment and monitoring
• Strong skills in building maintainable tests
• Strong experience with observability and tracing
• Knowledge of best practices for performance optimisation and memory management
• Experience mentoring others and improving team processes
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Write Python applications that are resilient and integrate with a service-oriented architecture
• Mentor others to write intuitive, testable code
• Develop observability for ML applications and GenAI/LLM integrations
• Develop integrations and services communicating with Google Services
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers throughout productionising models
• Respond to incidents focusing on CPU, memory, and GPU utilization
• Document procedures to enable knowledge sharing and upskilling
• Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members; take on end-to-end project management
