Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the ATRS Tools team in the UK. You will build and evolve engineering productivity and operational tooling used by thousands of engineers and middle-office users daily.

You will champion AI-assisted development practices, translate ambiguous requirements into reusable platform capabilities, and own features across the full lifecycle, from discovery to production support.

Qualifications

Formal software engineering training or certification.
Proficiency in Python; TypeScript/React for web tooling; SQL.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and secure AI practices.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve engineering productivity tooling for code changes and health.
Develop operational tooling: real-time monitoring and alerts.
Drive platform initiatives for runtime configuration and large-scale code cleanup.
Design real-time, event-driven systems on streaming platforms.
Embed AI capabilities into team-owned products with approved enterprise tooling.
Own features across their full lifecycle from discovery to production support.
Translate ambiguous asks into reusable platform capabilities.
Influence standards via RFCs and guidance.
Promote enterprise AI practices and reuse across the team.
