Job summary

Smd is seeking a technical lead to provide leadership across engineering and production from contract award through system trials. You will coordinate technical design, commissioning, and FAT procedures, while liaising with the client as the primary technical contact on projects worldwide.

You will work with cross-functional teams to identify risks, ensure suppliers meet specifications, and drive documentation to completion, including risk assessments and design directives.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic or Marine Engineering.
• Knowledge of CAD systems.
• Ability to plan and manage technical teams.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead across engineering and production throughout the project life cycle.
• Liaise with client as primary technical contact and provide field support.
• Coordinate design solutions, risk mitigation, and compliance documentation.
• Oversee commissioning, FAT procedures and client installation documents.
• Drive completion of machinery risk assessments and technical design specs.
