Job summary

The Environment Agency is seeking a Project Team Manager to lead and develop a high-performing technical team within the Project and Programme Delivery directorate. You will oversee a portfolio of flood and coastal risk projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required standards.

Applicants should have a degree in a relevant discipline, significant line-management experience, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent) in engineering, geography, or business/project management.
• Significant experience line managing a team in related sectors.
• Technical knowledge to manage hydrology, river modelling, feasibility assessment.
• Proven track record delivering results through a technical team.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to enable collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line-manage a technical team including recruitment and onboarding.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to help the team thrive.
• Oversee a portfolio of work, keep projects on track and resolve issues.
• Collaborate across department and organisation to enable smooth delivery.
• Contribute to regional priorities via the South West Leadership Team.
