Job summary

Bayman Atkinson Smythe is seeking a senior Project Accounting lead in Haydock with hybrid working. You will oversee revenue recognition, month-end close, and project reporting across an international portfolio.

You’ll test assumptions, challenge estimates, and drive improvements in project information and controls. This role also focuses on building the team and aligning policies under IFRS 15.

Qualifications

• Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Strong project/contract accounting experience on multi-year contracts.
• Solid understanding of percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and WIP.
• Experience leading a small finance team and multi-entity reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead project accounting and month-end reporting, including gross margin.
• Oversee the Project Summary Report and project balance sheet reconciliations.
• Apply percentage-completion revenue recognition with WIP and deferred revenue.
• Reconcile project reporting with job cost reports and explain movements.
• Test project assumptions with Commercial Finance and Operations.
• Maintain controls over project balances and intercompany activity.
• Help build the team and establish processes for a growing portfolio.
• Contribute to changes in revenue policy and IFRS 15 readiness.
