Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Barrow-in-Furness, UK, seeks a Programme Engineering Lead to drive Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) engineering efforts within a complex defence programme. You will lead a small multidisciplinary team, define technical scope, manage risks, and collaborate with programme managers and customers to deliver on cost, schedule and quality targets.

The role requires strong leadership, systems thinking, and experience with MBSE or related methods; security clearance

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams on complex defence programmes.
• Strong understanding of systems concepts, interfaces and requirements.
• Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience delivering programme objectives across cost, schedule and quality targets.
• Experience supporting the technical aspects of bids, proposals and business development activities.
• Good understanding of requirements engineering principles, including elicitation, management and validation.
• Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering the engineering strategy required to meet programme objectives, ensuring compliance with established processes, standards and governance.
• Leading a small multidisciplinary engineering team to achieve programme outcomes across cost, quality and schedule.
• Working closely with Programme and Project Managers to identify opportunities, define technical scope and support delivery planning.
• Monitoring and reporting programme performance, proactively managing risks, issues and dependencies.
• Acting as the primary technical point of contact for customers and key stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Providing technical leadership and guidance across multiple engineering disciplines, supporting the wider team in resolving complex technical challenges.
