Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Hydraulic Engineer for our team in Warrington, Leeds or Cambridge. You will lead the technical delivery of hydraulic studies across water infrastructure, from feasibility to construction support.

You will mentor engineers, guide complex analyses, and build strong client relationships, contributing to Stantec's national hydraulics capability and innovation.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/mechanical/hydraulic engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
• Significant UK water sector hydraulic project experience.
• Strong grasp of fluid mechanics, hydraulic structures and transient analysis.
• Experience using hydraulic modelling software such as HADES, VARISM or Flow-3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex hydraulic studies and project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance on hydraulic structures and conveyance assets.
• Review models, calculations and reports to ensure excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to innovate.
