Job summary

JCB is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Operator Environment to provide technical leadership across cab systems. You will ensure safe, compliant designs and support programme delivery from concept to production in a fast-paced setting.

You will chair governance activities, champion risk management and validation strategies while mentoring engineers and coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, cost-competitive solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong governance, risk management and validation skills.
• Proficient with Siemens NX and Teamcenter; comfortable with TR1-ESO reviews.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for Operator Environment systems including cab layout and ergonomics.
• Lead NPIP input and Technical Reviews to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and internal requirements.
• Own and manage technical risk using DFMEAs and validation strategies.
• Drive standardisation, reuse and cost reduction across Operator Environment systems.
• Collaborate with Structures, E&E, Manufacturing, Purchasing and BUs.
• Mentor engineers and build team capability.
• Liaise with test/development on Endurance, CEV and DVP build validation.
• Feed field data and warranty learnings into future designs.
