Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Lead Principal Designer to join the Principal Design team in the UK.

You will coordinate and assure delivery of Principal Designer services across a varied project portfolio, providing technical guidance and leadership to Principal Designers, and promoting safety by design in line with CDM 2015. You will support fee proposals, programmes and resource planning, with regular travel to Kier offices, client locations, design offices and project sites across the UK.

Qualifications

• Holding a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in design, engineering, construction or a related discipline.
• Demonstrating proven experience delivering Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015 across complex projects.
• Experienced in leading multiple projects and providing professional oversight to Principal Designers or design safety professionals.
• Possessing strong knowledge of design risk management, statutory duty holder requirements and proportionate assurance.
• A member of an appropriate professional institution with the ability to travel regularly to Kier offices, client locations, design offices and project sites throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating Principal Designers across multiple projects, ensuring quality and client service.
• Acting as senior technical adviser on CDM 2015 and Building Regulations for Principal Designers.
• Monitoring portfolio performance through reviews, audits and assurance activities.
• Providing day-to-day direction and addressing delivery issues for Principal Designers.
• Supporting fee proposals, programmes and resource planning for Principal Designer services.
