Job summary

Contract Scotland is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for Major Projects to join the growing team in the UK. This senior role leads early project development, coordinating design, planning, estimation, and commercial input to develop robust delivery strategies.

You will work with internal teams, clients and suppliers to shape projects from opportunity through to construction, ensuring buildable solutions and clear methodologies.

Qualifications

• Candidate has proven experience in leading preconstruction development from concept to delivery.
• Strong understanding of design, engineering, planning, programming and commercial input.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and tender processes.

Responsibilities

• Leading the preconstruction development of projects from concept through to delivery.
• Coordinating design and engineering development with planning and programming teams.
• Overseeing estimating, costing and commercial development.
• Reviewing designs for buildability, programme and risk.
• Developing construction methodologies and project strategies.
• Coordinating input from technical, commercial, procurement and operations teams.
• Working with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout development.
• Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Supporting tender submissions and client presentations.
• Taking ownership of projects through the preconstruction phase before site.
