Job summary

Alwoodley Medical Centre seeks an enthusiastic Lead Practice Nurse to provide clinical leadership and professional guidance to our Nursing and Healthcare Team. The role blends hands-on patient care with strategic leadership, workforce management, and service development.

The successful candidate will work closely with GP Partners and the multi-disciplinary team to shape nursing services for ~20,000 patients, with opportunities for leadership progression and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of CPD and ongoing professional development.
• Appropriate clinical training and competencies relevant to general practice nursing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support the Nursing and Healthcare Team.
• Oversee long-term condition management, immunisations and nurse-led clinics.
• Drive QOF performance, clinical governance and quality improvement projects.
• Lead clinical audits and introduce new care pathways and service improvements.
• Balance clinical duties with leadership responsibilities and workforce planning.
