We offer competitive, negotiable remuneration, opportunities for professional development and flexible working arrangements, with both full-time and part-time applications welcomed.

If you are ambitious, approachable and passionate about developing people and improving patient care, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The Lead Practice Nurse will play a pivotal role in leading, developing and shaping nursing services at Alwoodley Medical Centre, combining clinical practice with strategic leadership and service improvement.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, motivating and developing our Nursing and Healthcare Team through supervision, appraisals, mentoring, training and professional development.
  • Delivering and overseeing high-quality patient care, including long-term condition management, screening, immunisations, prevention and nurse-led clinics.
  • Driving QOF performance, enhanced services, clinical targets, patient recalls and accurate clinical coding.
  • Leading clinical audits, quality improvement projects, new care pathways and innovative approaches to improving access, capacity and patient outcomes.
  • Strengthening clinical governance, CQC readiness, safeguarding, infection control, patient safety and evidence-based standards.
  • Supporting workforce planning, rotas, recruitment, resource management and efficient nursing workflows.
