Job summary

Platform Housing Group’s Platform Property Care is recruiting a Lead Engineer - Plumbing to deliver high‑quality repairs, coach teams and drive trade excellence across Derbyshire.

The role is a mobile, customer‑facing position requiring a full driving licence, DBS clearance and experience in social housing settings. You will balance hands‑on trades with mentoring and quality assurance duties.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent.
• Unvented Hot Water qualification is essential.
• Significant experience as a Plumber within the building trade.
• Experience working within occupied domestic properties.
• Full valid driving licence is essential.
• DBS check required.
• Experience in social housing, housing association or local authority settings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs and maintenance work in customers' homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection through to completion with a focus on customer service.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues and apprentices within the multi-skill framework.
• Sign off colleagues against the multi-skill framework and support End Point Assessments for apprentices.
• Promote plumbing standards and best practice across Platform Property Care.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to upskill teams and drive training.
• Conduct trade audits, reviews and quality assessments to ensure compliance.
