Job summary

Platform Property Care in Market Harborough is seeking a Lead Engineer – Plumbing to deliver a blend of hands-on repairs and coaching across our property care teams. You will lead a range of plumbing works, ensuring high standards and customer satisfaction while supporting apprentices and colleagues.

You will act as the technical expert for plumbing, monitor safety and quality, and work with stakeholders to drive best practice across the service delivery.

Qualifications

• A trades-qualified plumber with NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Experience in social housing or similar environments is desirable.
• Ability to coach and develop colleagues and apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs and maintenance in customers' homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection through to completion with a focus on excellent customer service.
• Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and skills development.
• Assess and sign off colleagues against our multi-skill framework and support apprentices through EPAs.
• Promote consistent trade standards and best practice across Platform Property Care.
• Work with Learning & Development teams to support trade training and upskilling initiatives.
• Conduct trade audits and quality assessments to ensure compliance.
• Act as technical expert and escalation point for trade-related queries.
• Monitor industry developments to support continuous improvement.
