Job summary

Hall & Kay is seeking a Planning Team Leader in Birmingham to oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) work orders and coordinate service delivery. You will lead a planning team, collaborate with engineering, and improve report quality, asset data accuracy, and job completion efficiency.

Responsibilities include guiding a team, optimizing workload, managing RAMS, and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring adherence to SLAs and health & safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planning, coordination, or supervisory roles in fire and security or construction.
• Ability to lead and develop teams with coaching skills.
• Experience delivering service against SLAs with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience raising subcontractor purchase orders and managing supplier relationships.
• Strong IT skills with planning software and customer portals.
• Ability to interpret RAMS and engineering reports.
• Familiarity with PPM schedules and reactive maintenance workflows.
• Excellent communication, written skills, and stakeholder management.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the planning team, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Allocate workload, monitor productivity, and foster collaboration.
• Oversee planning of PPM and remedial works with direct labour and subcontractors.
• Review scheduling decisions and manage resource allocation.
• Oversee ordering of parts, access equipment, plant and tools.
• Ensure RAMS, permits, and health & safety compliance.
• Maintain relationships with customers, engineers, and internal teams.
• Lead monthly performance reviews and client meetings.
• Monitor service delivery against SLAs and update portals in real-time.
• Raise supplier and subcontractor purchase orders and manage budgets.
• Produce monthly performance reports and drive process improvements.
