Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts seeks a Lead Physiotherapist to direct the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist physiotherapy for patients with complex neurological conditions, including stroke, TBI, spinal injuries and progressive disorders. You will provide clinical leadership, supervise junior staff and champion high standards of care.

You will work within the multidisciplinary team to drive service development, implement protocols and use advanced rehabilitation

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex neurological conditions.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervise junior physiotherapy staff, promoting clinical excellence.
• Work collaboratively within the MDT to deliver integrated, patient-centred rehabilitation.
• Drive service development, implementing clinical protocols, guidelines and quality improvement initiatives.
• Champion advanced rehabilitation technology, including robotics and smart therapy equipment, to support recovery.
• Build strong relationships with patients, families and carers to personalise rehabilitation across the patient journey.

Job description

As Lead Physiotherapist, you will: Lead the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex neurological conditions, including TBI, stroke, spinal cord injury and progressive neurological disorders. Provide clinical leadership and expertise in complex rehabilitation, including respiratory management and tracheostomy care. Supervise, mentor and develop junior physiotherapy staff, promoting clinical excellence and continuous professional development. Work collaboratively within the MDT to deliver integrated, patient-centred rehabilitation. Drive service development, implementing clinical protocols, guidelines and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Champion the use of advanced rehabilitation technology, including robotics and smart therapy equipment, to support functional recovery. Build strong relationships with patients, families and carers, ensuring rehabilitation is personalised, goal-driven and consistent throughout the patient journey.
