Job description

Come and join one of the UK’s largest providers in complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people – no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Active Neuro, our specialist division of Active Care Group, is transforming neurorehabilitation in the UK. We are seeking a Band 6 level Physiotherapist to join our team at Nottingham Brain Injury and Neurological Care Centre, supporting adults with acquired or traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, and complex needs.

Working across NHS, private, and medicolegal pathways, our physiotherapists aren’t limited by a 12-week window. This allows you to set meaningful, long-term, person-centred goals—whether that’s whether that’s enjoying a morning walk with friends, preparing a favourite meal, returning to a creative hobby, or spending time in the garden independently.

Why join Active Neuro?

Varied caseloads: neurological conditions, polytrauma, amputations, and catastrophic injuries

Cutting-edge tech: access to equipment such as Luna Robotic EMG, Exo Motus, and Arm Motus for advanced rehabilitation

Outpatient and inpatient services: be part of our exciting expansion into outpatient services, creating true continuity of care

Autonomy and influence: contribute to service development, innovation, and patient-centred practice

Cross-divisional working – opportunities in case management, care in the home, and collaboration across Active Neuro sites

Career progression: access leadership, specialist roles, and personalised CPD tailored for physiotherapy, including Bobath, upper/lower limb rehab, cognitive retraining, FES, splinting, and neuropsychologically-informed interventions

Peer support and professional community: collaborate with colleagues across the Active Neuro network, sharing knowledge, mentorship, and advice

Networking opportunities: attend conferences and work alongside organisations such as Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association

If you’re a Physiotherapist who values creativity, autonomy, and the chance to make a real difference, this is your opportunity to be part of a pioneering service shaping the future of neurorehabilitation.

The Role

As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will:

  • Provide expert assessment and deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, spinal cord injury, and polytrauma.
  • Deliver specialist respiratory and tracheostomy care as part of a holistic, person-centred rehabilitation plan.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of physiotherapy programmes, supporting functional recovery and patient-specific goals.
  • Utilise advanced rehabilitation technologies, including Arm Motus M2 Pro, Wrist Motus, Ankle Motus, Kinestica Equio Balance System, and EMG-assisted devices, to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Actively participate in service development initiatives, including implementing physiotherapy protocols, contributing to clinical guidelines, and identifying opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior physiotherapy staff and students, sharing knowledge and fostering clinical excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), patients, families, and carers to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to audits, and ensure compliance with professional standards and local policies.
