Pegasus Opera Company invites a confident and creative Learning and Participation Manager to lead participatory music activity across diverse communities in London. Qualifications

• Experience developing, planning and delivering projects including budgets, logistics, partnerships and evaluation.
• Experience leading engaging music workshops and participatory projects with children, young people, adults or community groups using strong skills in either singing or piano.
• Experience coordinating, supervising or managing freelance practitioners, artists or delivery teams.
• Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with schools, community organisations, venues and cultural partners.
• Clear, warm and professional written and verbal communication.
• Able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and keep accurate records.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding, accessibility, inclusion and safe practice when working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.

• Willingness and ability to travel for projects and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality music-making
• Develop, plan and lead participatory music activity with diverse groups.
• Use musicianship across the Learning and Participation programme, reading music and supporting performers.
• Adapt activity for different ages and abilities to ensure inclusion.
• Develop new projects aligning with Pegasus mission and vision.
• Help ensure participatory work is artistically strong and connected to the wider programme.
• Plan and deliver Learning & Participation projects from idea to final evaluation, including budgets and reporting.
• Recruit, brief and manage freelance music leaders and practitioners.
• Maintain safeguarding, risk management and health & safety across all activity.
• Build partnerships with schools and community organisations to extend national reach.
• Represent Pegasus at meetings and events, gathering feedback to shape future activity.
• Set outcomes and gather evidence of reach, quality and impact.
