Job summary

Whittington Health NHS Trust is seeking an autonomous paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to manage a defined caseload of children with complex needs, including autism, AAC, and other communication disorders. The role focuses on assessment, differential diagnosis, and delivering specialist interventions with MDT collaboration.

You will lead clinical teaching for staff, supervise junior colleagues, and contribute to care planning, policy development, and training for parents and school

Qualifications

• Essential: BSc Speech Pathology or equivalent (Dip. CST)
• HCPC licence to practise and RCSLT registration
• Specialist/expert short courses relevant to paediatric speech & language therapy (e.g. signing, ASD)
• Desirable: post-graduate study in ASD or paediatric dysphagia

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate highly specialist clinical expertise in assessment, treatment and management of language & communication disorders in children.
• Lead on paediatric specialising within the team and provide supervision to colleagues.
• Develop individualised care plans with outcome measures and contribute to MDT multi-agency activities.
• Deliver training for school staff and parents and provide clinical education for junior staff.
