Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the Neurodevelopmental pathway across Birmingham. You will work within a multidisciplinary team with a focus on autism, dysphagia and multi-agency collaboration.

The role covers citywide locations including child development centres and family homes, with some virtual assessments. The successful candidate will have a First degree in SLT with a relevant postgraduate qualification,

Qualifications

First degree in Speech and Language Therapy with a relevant postgraduate qualification.
HCPC registration to practise.
Full membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
Evidence of CPD activities in ASD, dysphagia, fluency or SLI.

Responsibilities

Identify and plan SLT intervention including assessment and delivering therapy in groups and one-to-one sessions.
Provide appropriate treatment and evaluate outcomes for a range of clients including complex cases.
Explain complex information to clients, carers and multidisciplinary team members.
Assess, diagnose and treat children with communication and/or eating and drinking difficulties with independent clinical decisions for highly complex cases.
Maintain up-to-date clinical notes and records in line with professional and Trust guidelines.
Share specialist knowledge with colleagues and provide observation sessions for others.
Access supervision for highly complex cases as needed.
Contribute to updating packages of care and pathways used within the SLT Service.
