Job Description:
So, what will I be doing?
As a lead member of the team, you will support the production team at Blagdon in planning, coordination, and optimization of all resources in a specific area of work. You will be the go-to person for support, ensuring operational activities are completed to the highest standards of safety, product quality, and service levels, enabling the team to deliver excellent products to customers.
Working with the team and the wider site, you will ensure productive and effective work. You will coordinate resources across multiple assets and conduct performance improvement meetings to optimize asset utilization and raw material use.
Key responsibilities:
- Demonstrate commitment to Health & Safety by working safely, role modeling safety behaviors, challenging unsafe practices, and escalating issues.
- Lead team involvement in all Health & Safety aspects to improve safety practices.
- Escalate any food safety breaches or quality issues, ensuring defective products are identified, held, and issues are resolved and communicated appropriately.
- Participate in and govern the quality management system, ensuring controls and procedures are effectively followed to exceed customer and consumer expectations.
- Maintain good manufacturing practices, hygiene standards, PPE, and dress code.
- Model a 'Clean as You Go' approach, leading workplace organization and visual management.
- Work with the Technical team to understand audit non-conformances and customer complaints, managing communications and implementing corrective actions.
- Facilitate Short Interval Control Reviews, establish actions, and coordinate tasks and resources for continuous improvement.
- Analyze asset performance to identify opportunities and support performance and yield improvements.
- Engage in changeover optimization, improving asset utilization.
- Share performance data with the team, showing how their roles contribute to overall success.
- Accurately record downtime and raw material usage to support improvement initiatives.
- Perform basic fault finding on equipment and support root cause analysis.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained through validated cleaning and scheduled compliance.
- Train and mentor team members to build capability.
- Initiate and implement improvement activities across shifts and teams.
- Collaborate with the team to identify challenges and opportunities for investigation.
- Motivate the team with enthusiasm and proactive action.
