Job summary

Siemens Gamesa is seeking a Senior Offshore Wind Turbine Service Technician to ensure continuous operation of Beatrice and Hywind offshore wind assets. You will diagnose complex faults, lead on-site maintenance planning, and coordinate resources while upholding safety, quality and regulatory standards.

You will mentor junior technicians, manage third-party contractors, and deliver timely service reports to maximize turbine availability and reliability across offshore platforms.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• GWO Basic Safety Training including Sea Survival and Working at Height.
• Full valid driving licence.
• Significant offshore wind turbine experience.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical faults.
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills for turbine generators.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor small teams.
• Knowledge of offshore safety standards and quality requirements.
• Experience collaborating with contractors and third-party providers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults on offshore wind turbines.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per technical docs and standards.
• Test, commission, and verify turbine systems after repairs or upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance to other technicians on site.
• Deliver work packages safely and within agreed timescales.
• Demonstrate active safety leadership and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Lead incident reporting and support emergency responses when required.
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and toolbox talks.
• Plan and coordinate daily/weekly maintenance with site management.
• Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and documentation.
• Support technician welfare on site and coordinate contractors.
• Maintain accurate service reports and quality documentation.
• Support customer requirements and site visits.
