Job summary

Fugro-Geoteam AS in Wallingford, United Kingdom, seeks an experienced Senior Weather Forecaster Team Lead to head the UK Weather Forecasting team, coordinating daily workloads, delivering high-quality metocean forecasts and client briefings for offshore and marine operations.

You will mentor junior forecasters, interface with Fugro’s APAC hub, and drive continuous improvement of forecasting methods, tools and reporting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in meteorology or related field.
• Significant experience in operational weather forecasting for offshore, marine or energy sectors.
• Strong ability to translate weather data into actionable operations guidance.
• Experience coordinating teams and prioritising workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the UK Weather Forecasting team, including daily workload planning and service continuity.
• Provide high-quality forecasts, briefings and risk-based advice for offshore and marine operations.
• Act as the escalation point for complex forecasting situations and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop UK-based forecasters, sharing knowledge and feedback.
• Collaborate with Fugro's APAC hub to align processes and reporting.
