Job summary

Fugro is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor in Wallingford to lead the geotechnical lab and the new rock testing capability. You will manage a team of technicians, ensure tests are delivered on time and to quality standards, and contribute to the department as it evolves.

You will oversee testing of soil, rock and aggregates, coordinate resources, and maintain robust data integrity while supporting offshore or field investigations in the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated technical environments, with health & safety focus.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor teams in a lab/technical setting.
• Strong data recording, analysis and reporting of test data.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of geotechnical lab ensuring testing programs meet quality standards.
• Help grow rock testing capability, develop processes and best practices.
• Supervise and coach laboratory technicians to foster a high-performing team.
• Perform geotechnical testing on soil, rock and aggregates per standards and procedures.
• Monitor performance, resource planning and scheduling to improve productivity and service delivery.
• Ensure accurate data recording, analysis and reporting with QA standards.
• Act as operational contact for lab activities with stakeholders and clients.
• Promote safety culture and security of QHSE compliance.
