Job summary

The BBC is recruiting a Rigger Supervisor for its Media Operations in Manchester. You will physically position OB vehicles, rig and test broadcast gear, and support live events nationwide. The role offers hands-on experience, training, and a collaborative team environment.

We expect candidates to hold a Category C+E licence with Driver CPC, and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Salary up to £36,000 with opportunities to develop skills across high-profile broadcasts.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E (Class 1) licence with Driver CPC and Driver Qualification Card.
• Strong understanding of transport legislation and vehicle compliance.
• Willingness to undergo training to achieve required qualifications within six months.
• Proven ability to work flexibly in fast-paced operational environments.
• Experience in manual handling and physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive and position OB vehicles safely according to plans and laws.
• Load, weigh and check equipment before travel for compliance.
• Rig and operate broadcast equipment on site and test systems.
• Lead site set-up, supervise rigging, and maintain equipment standards.
• Operate generators, support communications, and power systems.
• Support stores with picking, loading and distribution of equipment.
• Maintain stock control and perform equipment maintenance.
• Keep OB fleet and equipment clean, safe and ready for use.
