Job summary

BBC Group and Public Services in Salford is looking for a staff member to coordinate the hire and maintenance of self-operating broadcast equipment for productions and individuals. You will manage equipment through the asset system, ensure proper testing and preparation, and provide technical guidance both remotely and on-site.

The role requires knowledge of cameras, lighting, and sound gear, plus the ability to work in a team and adapt to production needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with broadcast / production equipment such as cameras and sound recording gear.
• Knowledge of audio/visual equipment used in programme making.
• Understanding of equipment management, maintenance, and storage responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and support others.
• Clear oral and written communication to explain technical info.

Responsibilities

• Arrange hire and maintenance of self-operating broadcast equipment across BBC productions.
• Monitor and track equipment using the asset management system.
• Ensure equipment is tested and prepared per production needs.
• Assist with movement of equipment, couriers, and shipping lists for Carnets.
• Provide technical advice remotely and in person to productions.
• Occasional overnight travel to events or BBC offices as required.
