Job summary

PWHytek Ltd is recruiting a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer to support a major programme within the nuclear sector. The role offers predominantly remote work with occasional site visits and involves delivering safety cases, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing safety leadership across projects.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, guiding hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety substantiation, while liaising with clients and regulators to uphold national infrastructure

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or science with significant nuclear safety experience.
• Proven track record as a Principal Engineer within the nuclear industry.
• Experience developing or supporting nuclear safety cases in a highly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of UK nuclear safety principles and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review nuclear safety cases for complex projects.
• Provide guidance on nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support hazard identification, risk assessment and safety substantiation activities.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines to integrate safety in design.
• Liaise with clients and regulators to support project delivery and compliance.
