Job summary

Assystem is seeking a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead analysis and design for nuclear safety-related and conventional civil structures in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will guide technical decisions, ensure compliance with UK and international standards, and mentor engineers while supporting business development in the nuclear sector. A Master’s degree and Chartered status are required, with flexible/hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• You will lead civil and structural engineering activities across projects in a nuclear context.
• You will ensure compliance with UK and international codes and regulatory requirements.
• You will provide technical leadership and independent review for complex analyses.
• You will mentor engineers and support professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design for nuclear safety-related and conventional civil structures.
• Develop engineering solutions under seismic, environmental and accidental loading conditions.
• Review and approve technical deliverables including calculations, reports, and drawings.
• Provide technical leadership as Lead Civil Engineer or Technical Authority.
• Ensure solutions comply with UK and international standards and safety principles.
• Support development of nuclear safety cases and hazard assessments.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and client engagements.
• Mentor and develop team engineers and support chartership.
