Lead Network Security Engineer (Shift)

Permanent: £55,000 - £65,000 + 10% Bonus + shift allowance + more benefits

Location: Hybrid - Office in Sheffield City Centre – Shift Pattern involving nights

Your new company

I'm looking for a Lead Network Security Engineer to work in a managed service environment in Sheffield.

Your new role will involve

• Joining the existing Network Security team in tandem with the SOC
• Looking for exposure to vulnerabilities
• Setting up, maintaining, patching and upgrading customers' firewalls (typical vendors: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint)
• Actively working on client firewalls
• Completing firewall upgrades
• Running IPS and IDS
• Performing log reviews
• General BAU, VPN creation
• Facing a variety of clients and helping set up, maintain, monitor, and secure their networks
• Dealing appropriately with major incidents
• Making sure appropriate steps are in place and followed for the remediation of vulnerabilities
• Performing safe upgrades and patches where required
• Providing accurate and informed security insights internally and with the organisation's customers
• Ensuring incident response levels are appropriate

What you'll need to succeed

• A strong background in Network Security within a large-scale organization
• Experience setting up, maintaining, and upgrading firewalls
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE 4/5/6/7, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) and in-depth experience with the above
• In-depth experience with Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto
• Experience within a large-scale, managed service, consultancy, or B2B environment is highly beneficial
• Recent experience dealing with major network and firewall incidents
• Eligibility to obtain SC clearance
