Agilis Recruitment is partnering with an innovative technology organisation to recruit a Lead Software Engineer for C# / .NET. The role offers Cheltenham Spa / remote working and a salary of £70k–£75k DOE, reflecting experience and market rates.

You'll mentor engineers, develop backend services and APIs using C# / .NET, AWS and Blazor where required, and contribute to scalable, distributed systems with modern AI-assisted tooling. The position emphasizes code quality, automation and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Commercial Software Engineering experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience building backend services and REST APIs.
• Experience as Senior/Lead engineer acting as technical lead.
• Understanding of event-driven, asynchronous or service-based architectures.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with automated testing, source control and code reviews.
• Ability to work from technical documentation and requirements.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Technical lead, mentoring other engineers and performing code reviews.
• Build and maintain production software using C# and .NET.
• Develop backend services, APIs and event-driven applications.
• Work with PostgreSQL and AWS cloud technologies.
• Contribute to microservices, integrations and distributed systems.
• Support UI development using Blazor where required.
• Write automated tests and participate in peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot issues and support production systems.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks and contribute to delivery estimates.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, as part of the development process.
