Cheltenham Spa with remote options offers a chance to lead development across C#/.NET, AWS, APIs and event-driven architectures, delivering scalable backend services and robust tests.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions and work with AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Commercial software engineering experience with C#/.NET
• Experience as a Senior/Lead engineer acting as a technical Lead
• Experience building backend services and REST APIs
• Understanding of event-driven, asynchronous or service-based architectures
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience with automated testing, source control and code reviews
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools

Responsibilities

• Act as a Technical lead, mentoring engineers and performing code reviews
• Build and maintain production software using C# and .NET
• Develop backend services, APIs and event-driven applications
• Work with PostgreSQL and AWS cloud technologies
• Contribute to microservices, integrations and distributed systems
• Support UI development using Blazor where required
• Write automated tests and participate in peer code reviews
• Troubleshoot issues and support production systems
• Translate requirements into technical tasks and contribute to delivery estimates
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, as part of the development process
