Job summary

SussexDigital in Brighton, UK is recruiting for a Principal Mission Designer to own highly complex story missions from concept through to release. You will design mission locations, develop narrative scenarios and script complex logic using Blueprint and internal tools.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to keep the in-game experience aligned with the project’s tone and creative vision, mentor designers, and help define workflows and best practices with the Mission Design Lead.

Qualifications

• Proven design skills in concept and in-engine work.
• Expertise in creating complex 3D layouts to guide players and support pacing.
• Expert in Blueprint scripting or similar systems.
• Strong collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams and multiple global locations.
• Experience releasing high-profile AAA titles in a Senior or Principal Level or Mission Design capacity.
• Deep, production-proven experience with Unreal Engine.

Responsibilities

• Own highly complex story missions from early concept through to final polish and release.
• Design memorable mission locations and develop narrative scenarios.
• Script complex logic using Blueprint and internal tools.
• Work with developers to keep the in-game experience aligned with the project’s tone and creative vision.
• Help define, document and maintain workflows, tools and best practices with the Mission Design Lead and other stakeholders.
• Mentor, onboard and support senior and mid-level designers.
