Sweco UK Limited is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of innovative water solutions. You will guide technical delivery, drive sustainable, cost-effective design decisions, and mentor junior engineers to ensure safe, future-proof projects.

You will collaborate with project leaders to ensure on-time delivery, high quality standards and continuous improvement in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered status is preferred or working towards it.
• Proven mechanical design experience in complex infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and health & safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review mechanical designs for safety and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet time, budget and quality goals.
• Promote digital tools and modular construction methods.
• Drive health & safety by design and lifecycle cost reductions.
• Champion sustainability and innovation across design lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Work with leaders on strategic project decisions.
