Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Engineer, Mechanical, Customer Order to drive engineering design and leadership across subsea projects from concept to delivery. You will work with customers, manufacturing, project managers, and engineering specialists to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance subsea systems.

The role requires robust mechanical design experience in subsea hardware, strong knowledge of industry standards, and effective communication in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• Significant design experience in Subsea Wellhead/Production Systems.
• Post-graduate industrial experience in engineering leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, calculations, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience interpreting customer specifications into practical engineering solutions.
• Expertise in design verification, reliability assessment, risk evaluation, and design reviews.
• Familiar with risk assessment and reliability verification methodologies.
• Knowledge of API 5L, API 5CT, API 6A, API 17D, and NACE MR0175.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD modelling and engineering analysis tools.
• Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design activities across customer projects within Subsea Wellhead & Casing Solutions.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs and industry standards.
• Support projects from concept through manufacturing and delivery.
• Approve BOM, drawings, components, stack-ups, and assembly procedures.
• Perform design verification including tolerance studies and reliability checks.
• Identify improvements and cost-effective solutions to satisfy specifications.
