Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Mechanical Future Concepts team within Sparkworks. You will contribute to novel and disruptive technologies and shape future projects through strong mechanical engineering leadership.

The role is on-site with hybrid working options and requires BPSS checks post-offer. You will lead projects, develop concept designs, and collaborate with electronic packaging and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles including structural and thermal aspects.
• Ability to develop concept designs from limited information.
• Awareness of electronic packaging and low observability is advantageous.
• Experience with 3D CAD/CAE (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts on missile projects and related systems.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise to multidisciplinary teams across programs.
• Develop concepts for early-stage development and rapid prototyping.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape project directions and funding opportunities.
