Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd in Cambridgeshire (Newmarket) is seeking a Senior Hydraulics Engineer / Design Engineer to design, develop and support hydraulic systems and equipment from concept through to manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.

The role combines technical design with practical hands-on engineering and complex problem solving, owning safe, reliable, and commercially viable solutions while collaborating with engineering, production and supply chain teams to meet quality, cost

Qualifications

• Strong background in hydraulic engineering with proven design experience.
• Experience designing hydraulic systems and circuits.
• Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic installation, commissioning and fault finding.
• Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic systems, circuits and equipment to meet technical requirements.
• Produce hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carry out hydraulic system calculations and component selection.
• Provide practical engineering support throughout manufacture, assembly, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Diagnose hydraulic and technical issues, carrying out root-cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
• Provide ongoing technical support and guidance where required.
• Ensure designs and engineering activities meet relevant standards, safety requirements and risk assessment principles.
• Use CAD, engineering software and technical documentation systems effectively.
• Work closely with engineering, production and supply chain teams to deliver projects to the required quality, cost and timescales.
• Manage priorities effectively and take ownership of technical outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering processes and solutions.
