Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Evidence of wider professional development
  • Excellent classroom practitioner
  • Knowledge of strategies to inspire and improve outcomes for students
  • Outstanding organisational skills to ensure efficient and effective implementation of the role
  • Ability to teach A-level Maths and Further Maths (desirable)
  • Understanding of Exam Board specifications
  • Able to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people - students, colleagues and parents
  • Commitment to high standards and expectations

Responsibilities

  • Act as Head of Maths in the absence of the postholder
  • Lead and develop Maths across key stages
  • Develop and enhance teaching practice including involvement in DDI's
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and delivery
  • Support SLT to ensure high standards of behaviour
  • Impact on academic standards across key stages
  • Safeguard students in line with Trust policies
  • Lead, manage and develop department members
  • Plan and teach across KS3-5 with high-quality lessons
  • Be a role model to inspire student engagement
  • Ensure effective deployment of classroom support
  • Maintain discipline per school procedures and promote best practices
  • Lead assessment and feedback per policies
  • Track student attainment and progress
  • Provide diagnostic feedback and mark work
  • Undertake assessments for external bodies and school procedures
  • Record and report attendance, progress, and attainment
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in teaching practice
  • Coordinate with pastoral leaders for Student Support
