Job summary

Thrybergh Academy, part of Wickersley Partnership Trust, invites applications for an ambitious Assistant Director of Maths to drive strategic leadership across our secondary mathematics provision within the Trust.

Working with the Director and Deputy Director, you will shape curricula, pedagogy, and assessment; mentor Subject Directors and staff; and use data to raise attainment across our schools, including SEND and disadvantaged learners.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong mathematics background.
• Proven leadership improving teaching, learning and attainment in secondary maths.
• Extensive experience in data analysis, curriculum planning and cross-school interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching and communication skills across multiple schools.
• Up-to-date knowledge of national curriculum developments and evidence-based maths strategies.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership for mathematics across the Trust; monitor policy effectiveness and curriculum delivery.
• Lead projects to improve classroom instruction, pedagogy and assessment; support SEND and disadvantaged learners.
• Mentor and develop Subject Directors and teaching staff; assist with recruitment and performance management.
• Utilise student data to track progress and lead targeted intervention to close attainment gaps.
• Support internal and external evaluations including Ofsted; ensure safeguarding and policies are followed.
