Job summary

Oyster Yachts is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to drive electrical system design across our yacht range. You will produce detailed 2D schematics, panel drawings, and cable schedules, reporting to the Design Manager, and ensuring production-ready information is delivered on time.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of marine AC and DC electrical systems, materials and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain electrical design standards across our range.
• Produce, check, update and issue accurate 2D electrical schematic and panel drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop contract-specific 2D CAD electrical information for Production.
• Produce accurate cable running schedules, considering manufacturing processes and installation requirements.
• Lead the Electrical Design Change Request (DCR) process.
• Ensure electrical design information is delivered accurately and to agreed deadlines.
• Provide technical oversight to the Electrical Design team and ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.
• Manage resources within the Electrical Design team.
• Work with Production, Electrical, Engineering and Joinery teams.
