Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer for a premier UK marine sector client. You will lead detailed electrical design output from concept through to production support, owning design standards across the range.

You will produce 2D schematics and panel drawings (AutoCAD), manage design changes, and collaborate with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure builds are feasible and compliant.

Qualifications

• Experience in AC/DC electrical design within a relevant engineering environment.
• Confident producing detailed 2D CAD electrical drawings (AutoCAD preferred).
• Good understanding of design-for-manufacture / design-for-installation principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator who can collaborate across design, production and supply chain teams.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain electrical design standards across the product range.

• Create accurate cable/harness routing schedules, aligned to installation and manufacturing constraints.
• Lead and manage the design change request / engineering change process for electrical design.

• Contribute to continuous improvement, value engineering and R&D activity.

Lead Electrical Design Engineer

A leading UK manufacturer in the premium marine sector is hiring a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join its in-house design team on a permanent basis. This role would suit an experienced electrical design engineer from marine, automotive, motorsport, aerospace, off-highway or other complex engineered products, who enjoys owning design output from concept through to production support.

The opportunity

You'll lead the delivery of detailed electrical design information for high-value products, supporting build, change control, and continuous improvement. This is a technical, detail-driven role where your drawings and schedules directly support production.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain electrical design standards across the product range
