Job summary

Verso Recruitment Group in Royston, Hertfordshire is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Technician to join its manufacturing team. You will lead a team, supervise day-to-day activities and support the build, test, fault-finding and repair of complex electromechanical products.

The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership, aiming to improve processes, documentation and overall manufacturing performance while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Several years’ experience as a technician within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong practical mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience assembling, modifying, fault-finding and repairing electromechanical systems.
• Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Able to use standard workshop and engineering equipment.
• Understanding of sensors, motors, actuators, wiring, connectors and mechanical assemblies.
• Methodical approach to fault-finding and problem solving.
• Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on attitude.
• Computer literate.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to the technician team.

• Fault-find and diagnose issues systematically.
• Support repairs and maintenance at operational and customer sites.

• Ensure agreed processes and standards are followed.

Lead Manufacturing Technician

Salary: Up to £32,000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A growing technology business is looking for a Lead Manufacturing Technician to join its manufacturing team in Royston.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced technician to take on a lead role, supporting the build, testing, fault-finding, repair and continuous improvement of complex electromechanical products.

You will also provide day-to-day guidance to a team of technicians, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

The Role

Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, you will support day-to-day production while helping improve processes, documentation and technician capability.

The role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on but is also ready to take on greater responsibility for a team and help drive manufacturing performance.
