Randstad are working with a leading property maintenance provider who is looking to recruit an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of a multi-site portfolio comprising six high-end commercial office buildings in the heart of Central London. This is a client-facing, hands-on role with both technical and supervisory responsibilities - perfect for a senior engineer looking to step into a more autonomous, leadership-focused position.
Central London Portfolio (6 Commercial Properties)
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
£50,000 - £53,000 per annum (DOE) + Travel Allowance + Benefits
Oversee day-to-day building services maintenance across six commercial buildings.
Coordinate and deliver PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fabric systems.
Lead a small team of on-site and mobile engineers, providing guidance and support.
Ensure all compliance and statutory tasks (L8, F-Gas, etc.) are up to date and properly recorded.
Act as the primary point of contact for the client, tenants, and subcontractors.
Carry out hands-on maintenance as required, primarily HVAC, basic plumbing, lighting, and power systems.
Monitor and report on plant performance and energy efficiency.
Assist in managing budgets, quotes, permits to work, and risk assessments.
Attend client meetings and provide clear updates on performance and site issues.
NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
17th/18th Edition (if electrically qualified).
Proven experience in a lead engineer or supervisory role within commercial building services.
Good all-round knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC.
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Experience managing PPM schedules, compliance, and contractor performance.
Comfortable working across multiple sites and engaging with clients.
