Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined team to ensure operational commitments are met and exceeded. The role requires close liaison with employees, clients, and internal senior managers. The operation should be proactive and driven to achieve total customer satisfaction, while ensuring operational and fiscal plans are at least achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the H&S of the sites and engineers.
- Onsite HV and LV Authorized Person when qualified and on Shift.
- Proactively check the operation of the Permit to Work system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements, especially regarding subcontractors' adherence to RAMS.
- Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements.
- Ensure subcontractors perform to meet contract requirements. Administer subcontractor work approvals and ensure safe operation during repairs or services on site.
- Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by site management.
- Undertake annual appraisals of shift technicians after completing the BGIS Appraisal and Development training course.
- Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
- Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system (e.g., Maximo, Concept) up to date and ensure PPM and reactive tickets are closed with accurate data.
- Work closely with the Area Contract Manager to maintain high service levels.
- Support the Contract Support team in achieving high customer satisfaction levels.
- Ensure statutory and code compliance of sites. Ensure engineers are fully equipped for daily tasks.
- Plan PPM schedules to ensure an even workload in conjunction with the Area Contract Manager.
- Carry out PPM in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Manage the return of PPM and work-related documentation.
- Manage Day Engineers and Shift team members.
- Ensure all sites have accurate asset registers and are properly labeled.
- Procure materials and services efficiently. Proactively source additional works and raise quotations.
- Provide technical support to engineers, helpdesk, and clients.
- Investigate and report major operational incidents.
- Attend all callouts in conjunction with the helpdesk.
- Promote H&S culture across the team.
- Assist engineers with PPM where required. Maintain regular communication with the engineering team.
- Ensure weekly tasks are completed and assist site management in producing delivery reports.
- Maintain customer service levels.
- Ensure uniforms are worn and in good condition. Complete third-party contract works.
- Attend statutory works to understand procedures and provide feedback.
- Escalate unapproved quoted works that could impact the business.
- Serve as the first point of contact for in-hour shift issues and concerns.
- Serve as the first point of contact on the escalation path for mechanical incidents.
- Responsible for producing and distributing weekly reports with the Area Contract Manager.
- Carry out any reasonable management requests.
