Job Description
Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined team ensuring operational commitments are met and exceeded. The role requires close liaison with employees, clients, and internal senior managers. The operation should be proactive and driven to achieve total customer satisfaction, while ensuring operational and fiscal plans are at least achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the H&S of the sites and engineers.
- Act as on-site HV and LV Authorized Person when qualified and on shift.
- Proactively check the operation of the Permit to Work system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements, especially regarding subcontractors' adherence to RAMS.
- Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements.
- Ensure subcontractors meet contractual requirements, administer work approvals, and ensure safe operations during repairs or services.
- Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by site management.
- Conduct annual appraisals of shift technicians after completing BGIS Appraisal and Development training.
- Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
- Maintain the Computer-Based Maintenance system (e.g., Maximo, Concept), ensuring PPM and reactive tickets are accurately updated and closed.
- Work closely with the Area Contract Manager to maintain high service levels.
- Support the Contract Support team in achieving high customer satisfaction levels.
- Ensure statutory and code compliance of sites and that engineers are equipped to perform daily tasks.
- Plan PPM schedules to ensure an even workload, in conjunction with the Area Contract Manager.
- Ensure PPM is conducted according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Manage the return of PPM and related documentation, and oversee day engineers and shift team members.
- Ensure all sites have accurate asset registers and labels.
- Procure materials and services efficiently, source additional works, and raise quotations.
- Provide technical support to engineers, helpdesk, and clients.
- Investigate and report major operational incidents.
- Attend to all callouts with the helpdesk.
- Promote a health and safety culture across the team.
- Assist engineers with PPM tasks and maintain regular communication with the engineering team.
- Ensure weekly tasks are completed and assist site managers in generating delivery reports.
- Maintain customer service levels.
- Ensure uniforms are worn and in good condition, and that third-party works are completed.
- Attend statutory works and provide feedback on their conduct.
- Escalate unapproved quoted works that could impact the business.
- Serve as the first point of contact for shift issues and mechanical incident escalations.
- Produce and distribute weekly reports in collaboration with the Area Contract Manager.
- Perform any other reasonable management requests.
