Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking a LV to HV Lead Electrical Construction Fitter to join our Southern region team in the UK. The role involves constructing electrical apparatus in substations from 11kV to 132kV, with travel across multiple locations.

You will lead safe, live-substation projects, install relays and CT metering equipment, and act as an SSE ambassador with customers. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential; excellent benefits and training are

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electricity distribution networks and safety standards.
• Experience reading single-line diagrams and wiring layouts.
• Willingness to travel across the network area and work in live substations.
• CDM regulations awareness and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct electrical apparatus in substations from 11kV to 132kV.
• Deliver safe projects in live substation environments and respond to faults.
• Install relays, CT metering equipment, and related control panels.
• Represent SSE with customers to deliver high-quality service.
