Job summary

Castle Education is seeking Lead Learning Support Practitioners to work across primary schools in York, supporting pupils in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. You can choose when you work, with regular or ad hoc placements and flexible hours.

We offer weekly PAYE pay, holiday pay, 25+ CPD courses, safeguarding training, and a dedicated education recruitment consultant to support your placements, ensuring a positive work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Experience as HLTA or TA in primary settings.
• Ability to deliver pre-planned lessons.
• Experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS/KS1/KS2.
• Lead class activities and manage whole class learning.
• Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with needs.
• Support classroom management and pupil confidence.

Lead Learning Support Practitioner

York | £95–£130 per day | Flexible Supply

Are you an experienced HLTA, Higher Level Teaching Assistant or experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in York? Castle Education are looking for enthusiastic and committed Lead Learning Support Practitioners to work across primary schools in York and the surrounding areas, supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Whether you are looking for regular work, a few days each week or occasional supply around your existing commitments, we can offer the flexibility to choose when you work.

The Role

As a Lead Learning Support Practitioner, you could be:

• Covering classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Delivering pre planned lessons
• Leading whole class learning and activities
• Supporting pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
• Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs
• Supporting classroom management
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and key skills
• Working alongside teachers and wider school staff
• Creating a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment
